What we buy
Any make, any age, any condition.
Most of what we buy isn't on the list below. Same firm offer, same free collection, same payment before the transporter leaves.
Start with the registration
One field. We pull the car up from the DVLA record, and a person prices it from there.
Where we pay more
On these, export demand sits on top of the UK market, so our number is usually stronger than a general buyer's.

The reason why
Why our offers on certain cars are stronger
We buy cars of every kind. On a minority of them — young, well-specified models — we also sell to exporters we work with, supplying a market where right-hand drive is the local standard rather than an oddity.
That export demand is why our offer on a young Range Rover, Defender, Lexus or Mercedes GLE can beat a general buyer's. It is the exception rather than the rule: most of what we buy is bought, prepared and sold here, at a fair number priced against the UK trade.
Honestly
Your three ways to sell
Each has its place, and one of them beats us for some sellers. Here is the honest version of all three.
Private sale
- In its favour: Usually the highest headline price
- Against it: Weeks of listings, messages and timewasters
- Against it: Strangers and test drives at your house
- Against it: Payment fraud risk on handover
Part-exchange
- In its favour: The easiest route by far
- In its favour: One visit, everything handled
- Against it: The trade-in figure carries the dealer's margin
- Depends: Works best when you're buying from them anyway
The Motor House
Our way- In its favour: A firm offer within two hours
- In its favour: The number doesn't change on collection
- In its favour: Free collection anywhere in mainland UK
- In its favour: Paid in full before the car leaves your drive
Asked first
Before you type a registration
Within two hours of your enquiry, from a person, not an algorithm. If you enquire late in the evening, you will hear from us first thing the next morning.
It is firm. The number we give you is the number we pay. We do not inspect the car at collection and start finding deductions — if something about the car surprises us and you told us what you knew, that is our problem, not yours.
Seven days from the date we send it, provided the mileage has not materially increased and the car's condition is as you described it. If seven days is not long enough, tell us and we will look at it again.
A person who trades your kind of car prices it on model, age, mileage, specification, condition and service history — and on where the car will sell best. For young premium SUVs that often means export demand, which is why our offers on those cars can beat a general buyer's.
